The Las Vegas Strip is just a small, small taste of what Las Vegas has to offer. Communities like Henderson, Summerlin, and Lake Las Vegas hold many, many interesting and beautiful buildings, scenery and historical locations. While driving to Red Rock Casino, I spotted this wonderful mission type architecture on St. Joesph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church just outside of Summerlin on Sahara Blvd. West. Enjoy ! Looking at the bell tower from the courtyard at Saint Joseph, Husband of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Las Vegas Nevada, June 2011.

Ribbon of Red in a rock formation at Red Rock Canyon, Summerlin, Nevada 2007   Las Vegas is so much more than the neon of the Strip or Fremont street. I will admit it took until my third trip to realize this. Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area is located a short drive from the Las Vegas Strip in Summerlin, Nevada. It’s more or less Red Rock Casino’s neighbor ! The park offers many, many photo ops as well as hiking, rock climbing, bird watching, biking and so much more.
